There have been various reports in media that Home Information Packs may cost £1000. Whilst the Government has stated the pack should only cost £650 to assemble.

Anyone else has a approximation of how much its going to cost?

First off - good website - particularly like the countdown timer!

In terms of charges for packs, we are actively producing HIPs today (one of the first to supply full HIPs, which include a real HCR).

You are DEFINITELY looking at £1000+ for HIPs for larger properties. Our surveyors tell us that £500 will get an absolute minimum survey done. We have just completed a HIP for a 120m2 house (OK so its larger than average) and we estimate it will cost ~£800 for this survey.

(There is more information about this in recent SAVA newsletter)

More than happy to provide real feedback on HIPs.

Hi

The cost of the HIP without the Home condition report should be no more than £380.

The Energy performance certificate or Energy Performance report, which is compulsary.

Should cost you no more than £120..with the average around £90.

Do not be conned by anyone charging extra for a "rush job"

However what is not compulsory or required in the pack is the “Home condition report.” as mortgage lenders still require there own survey.

Kind regards
The home information pack
